Medications

I went to the doctor and had another ultrasound, blood work and other tests, the verdict is in, I am all cleared to move forward with the transfer. For all my (two) followers out there let me just tell you about my medication schedule. Well I started out taking 20 units of Lupron (injection in the stomach) 1 baby asprin and 1 prenatal vitamin every night. Then I went down to 10 units of Lupron and started taking 1 Estrace and countinued taking the baby asprin and prenatal vitamin. I then incresed the Estrace to 1 in the morning and 1 at night. About a week later I increased the estrace again to, two at night. The night of the 24th I will stop taking the Lupron and start taking 1cc of progestrone every morning and night. Then on the 25th I will also start taking 1 Doxycline in the morning and night as well as 1 Medrol in the morning for four days along with the rest of the stuff. The morning of the embryo transfer I will start taking Anaprox every morning and night in addition to everything else. Whew, that is a lot of medication and you would think that I would be use to this since this is my fourth cycle since becoming a surrogate, but I am not. It still shocks me every time I receive the medication in the mail. The transfer should be on the 29th or 30th of this month. I will update more in the weeks to come.

And The Doctor Said…

Well I went to my appointment on Monday Ausust 18th and I apparently had some tissue that was floating around in my uterus so I had to have a little tiny minor procedure on Friday August 22nd. Everything went ok and things looked good according to the doctor. So then I waited and received my calendar to see when I started my medications. I started the lupron on September 4th, it is a little injection I must give myself every night in the stomach. I also started taking prenatal vitamins and a baby asprin. I will now begin to take one estrace at night starting tonight. My dosage will increase as it closer to the transfer date. I went down on the 11th to have an ultrasound to see what the base line was of my uterus; I also had blood work done to check my levels for progestrone and estrogen. I will go back on the 22nd maybe the 21st to see if the lining of my uterus is becoming thick. I belive the transfer will take place any time from September 30th to October 2nd.
